Transportation across the lunar surface was conducted via the moonbus, a small passenger craft that allowed personnel to travel from the main moonbase to several outposts.  These craft were also used for survey missions.

The 2001 Moonbus served as the inspiration for the Gerry Anderson “Moon Hopper” seen in the British series UFO.  That craft, in turn, served as the basis for the more famous Space: 1999 Eagle spacecraft.
