Battlestar Galactica originated as a concept by Glen Larson called “Adam’s Ark”, and premiered on ABC TV on 17 September 1978.  Since then, it has undergone a number of reiterations, some good and some bad.

In December of 2003, The Sci-Fi Channel began airing a totally “reimagined” Battlestar Galactica that truthfully bore little resemblance to the 1978 show.  The new concept began with a controversial miniseries that greatly upset many fans, yet enticed others.  Tombs of Kobol invites you to learn about the various renderings of a series that has continued to enjoy a loyal fanbase since it first aired in 1978.
