  • Doctor Who Episode 1206. Praxeus

Although this episode does not connect up in any way with the awesome Episode 1205 (see my review in another forum topic), this one moves along at a fairly fast pace.
Seemingly disparate Events in Madagascar, Peru, and Hong Kong pit the Doctor and Team TARDIS against an alien pathogen, referred to as Praxeus, that infects plastics and is then carried by birds around the world to infect the respective populations. Of course, The Doctor finds a cure in time to save the human race (no surprise there).

I did like the focus on several characters, in particular the UK astronaut Adam and his husband Jake, the travel blogger Gabriela, and Suki. It added a human dimension to the storyline.
And there are the assorted deaths, where the infected develop a growing mutation on the skin that consumes then until they eventually explode. Neat effects there.
Also the interaction between The Doctor and the alien-in-human flesh form Suki continues to show viewers that the Time Lord is a force not to be reckoned with.

My score: 3.5/5 (cheeseburger with fries and Coke)
